From the oldest Pinot vines in the single-vineyard Seeberg comes the 2019 Pinot Blanc Leithaberg, whose grapes were macerated for three days and vinified in a large oak cask and a single amphora, which makes for 10% of the total. The wine was bottled after 15 months and was never racked prior to bottling. The nose is clear and intense and represents a significantly warmer vintage and riper fruit than the 2020 Ried Seeberg, and this 2019 is also chalkier on the nose. Round and creamy on the palate, this is a full-bodied and sustainable Pinot Blanc with fine tannins and a long, complex and structured finish. The Leithaberg is rich and tastes sweeter than the Seeberg, and you will drink it more slowly and with the main course that can actually be a rich fish or even meat.
