Racy, with nice stuffing and mineral density, this is introduced by white blossom, melon and white nectarine notes that turn fleshy and pure on the palate. Stylish and fresh, with zesty spice, wet stone and mineral details through the linear finish. Drink now through 2027. 375 cases made, 120 cases imported.

The 2021 Condrieu showed well, with a more refreshing, mineral-laced, citrusy style that's common in this cooler vintage. Medium-bodied and balanced, it brings good acidity with solid Condrieu character. It's still tight and a touch closed, but I suspect it will blossom with a year in bottle.
Winery
Golden in color with pale yellow highlights. Expressive and delicate on the nose with elegant floral notes and fresh yellow fruit aromas. Rich and full-bodied with incredible balance and an emphasis on freshness. The finish is long with a delightful hint of bitterness. Pair with rich, creamy dishes like vegetable risotto, poultry in a cream sauce and foie gras. The balance and acidity of the wine is a perfect partner for these rich dishes. Aging potential of five to ten years.

green grapes

Varietal: Viognier

Although primarily associated with the Rhone region of France, the precise origins of the Viognier grape variety are unknown, and the subject of much debate. However, these fine and delicate green skinned grapes are an important varietal for many of France's most elegant white wines, and they are quickly beginning to spread around the New World, too, where wineries are discovering their unique qualities and unusual character. Viognier grapes are notoriously difficult to grow, due to the fact they are highly susceptible to mildew, but wineries persevere with them nonetheless, producing wines which are highly aromatic and have a great, fruit-forward character. Their delicate aroma suggests sweetness due to its flowery, sappy nature, but the wine itself generally very dry and crisp, and full of summery, light and refined qualities.

Region: Rhone Valley

For over two thousand years, the southern French region of the Rhone Valley has been home to wine-makers and wineries of many different types. The ancient Greeks were the first to discover that a wide range of grape varietals can flourish in the rich soils and micro-climates which typify the region, and little has changed to this day. In the modern age, the Rhone Valley is recognized around the world as the home of excellent quality white, red and rosé wines, as well as some of the most highly respected blended wines on earth. The region is split into two distinctive sub-regions, with the cooler, continental northern sub-region producing primarily Syrah, Marsanne, Roussane and Viognier wines of exquisite quality, and the hotter southern sub-region growing a much wider variety of grapes.

Country: France

France is renowned across the globe for its quality wines and the careful expertise which goes into making them, but what is truly remarkable about this relatively small country is the vast range of wines it produces in such huge amounts each year. Not only are the finest red wines in the world said to come from the beautiful regions of Bordeaux and Burgundy, but elsewhere in the country we find the Champagne region, and areas such as the Rhone Valley and the Loire, whose white wines consistently receive awards and accolades by the plenty. This range is a result of the great variety of climatic conditions and terrain found in France, coupled with generations of wine makers working within single appellations. Their knowledge of specific terroirs and grape varieties has, over time, perfected the production of wines within their region, and the end results continue to impress the world to this day.
