Billed as “the spiciest rye whiskey anywhere,” this is a blend of two rye whiskeys, both a minimum of two years old, sourced from multiple distilleries. The 2018 bottling has a mild, honeyed scent, while the palate surprises with vanilla custard contrasted by traces of smoke, eucalyptus and cigar wrapper. As promised, the long finish explodes with a spicy burst—but don't worry, it's not too extreme to sip. ... More details

Aromas of spiced rye and a hint of honey are more savory than sweet. The flavors play between creamy caramel and piquant baking spices, with ginger and dried mango perfuming the finish. The texture is round and soft. (Great Value) - 2023 ULTIMATE SPIRITS CHALLENGE

A blend of two straight whiskeys: a very young 2 year old high rye content whiskey and a 16 year old rye whiskey with a lower rye content. Perhaps the spiciest American whiskey I have ever tasted, yet at the same time, quite tame and mellow. Complex notes of mint, clove, cinnamon, licorice root, pine nuts, and dark chocolate, with a surprising dose of gin botanicals throughout. A soft underbelly of caramel, sweet corn, and soothing vanilla provides an interesting counterpoint. Very easy-drinking, too (hard to believe it's 46%). Intriguing, and a must-try for rye whiskey aficionados — even if only to satisfy your curiosity. - Spring 2011
Winery
Our distinctive Double Rye embodies a harmonious balance of bold rye spice with bright botanical notes that simultaneously showcase layers of freshness and complexity. Blended to be boldly sipped, stirred, and savored. Nose: Mint, clove, cinnamon, licorice root, pine nuts, and dark chocolate, with a surprising dose of gin botanicals throughout. Taste: Rye spices up front, then menthol, mint, eucalyptus, herbal tea with wildflower honey and all spice

Country: United States

Whilst there are several strains of native grape varietals in the United States, it was the introduction of the European species which prompted the country to begin producing wines on a large scale. Over the past few centuries, experimentation and cross-breeding has produced great successes in regards to the quality and suitability of the fruit grown in states such as California, Oregon, Washington and New York, and the past few decades have seen New World wines from the United States reach much higher standards. Arguably the finest United States wines have always come out of California, where the climate and terrroir is most suitable for fine wine production. The masterful blending of classic grape varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, amongst others including Syrah and Chardonnay, have had world beating results in recent years, prompting many to suggest that there has never been a better time for buying and drinking United States wines.
