In Basque language, BIKKUN means a thing you do with someone, in pairs. This is the origin of our BIKKUN Vatted Malt Whisky, a 100% malt whisky, resulting of an international collaboration between BASQUE MOONSHINERS and DISTELL International. To create this whisky, smoked malts from the Scottish islands have been used, in addition to malts with a marked “sherry” character from the Highlands; completing the blend with BASQUE MOONSHINERS’ characteristic Single Malt aged in Rioja Alavesa casks and present in AGOT Single Malt Basque Whisky. Natural old gold color. Bright and clear. On the nose we start with a clear blow of peat smoke and a light salty touch; sweet and fruity aromas. Pleasant cereal aroma combined with notes of pastries and dry fruits. Finally notes of Sherry appear. In the mouth, we discover a medium and mellow body. We find notes of honey, licorice and peat smoke mixed with spicy notes. Medium finish with sweet notes of cereal and slightly bitter.

Country: Spain

Ever since the Phoenicians and Romans brought their knowledge of vine cultivation to Spanish soils, the country's culture has grown alongside wine production, with wine being a vital part of Spanish identity and Spanish traditions. Each region of Spain has a wine quite distinct from the others, and it is produced by smallholders and families as much as it is by large companies and established wineries. From the relatively mild and lush regions of La Rioja to the arid plateaus that surround Madrid, grapes are grown in abundance for the now booming Spanish wine industry, and new laws and regulations have recently been put in place to keep the country's standards high. By combining traditional practices with modern technology, Spanish wineries are continuing to produce distinctive wines of great character, flavor and aroma, with the focus shifting in recent decades to quality over quantity.
